This course highlights the ethical considerations of recruiting families for children who come from hard places. How do you advocate for children who have experienced trauma and need special care without exploiting their pain and circumstances? The presentation reviews the importance of understanding the children we serve as adoption professionals, uncovering parental motivations for adopting, and providing potential parents with education and support throughout the process. The presenter discusses marketing and communications planning, standards, best practices, and dos and don’ts for reaching prospective adoptive parents.
