Completing and Preserving Adoptions for Children with Challenging Behaviors


Description
Identifying and maintaining stable placements for children with extreme behaviors can be a huge challenge for adoption professionals. This course will offer strategies for navigating these challenges and for more effectively preserving and stabilizing these placements. The speaker will provide guidance on effectively educating and empowering prospective foster and adoptive parents about the potential obstacles they may encounter when parenting a child with challenging behaviors. This presentation will also provide insight on how to assess a family's ability to handle extreme behavioral challenges and will detail effective wraparound services for these children and families. The speaker will use practical insights and real-life scenarios to help adoption professionals apply these skills with the families they serve.
