Join us for a dynamic webinar designed to provide valuable insights and practical skills in trauma-informed parenting and complex trauma. This workshop-style webinar will delve into the essential principles of trauma-informed caregiving and equip participants with applicable strategies and techniques for managing challenging behaviors, promoting emotional regulation, and fostering a sense of safety and trust. This presentation will focus on real-life examples to help attendees gain confidence in recognizing and responding to the unique needs of children who have experienced trauma.

After attending this course, participants will be able to…
• Describe the Essential Elements of Trauma Informed Parenting from the National Child Traumatic Stress Network.
• Explain the ways in which these essential elements apply specifically to the development of adoptive families.
• Examine behavior as a language of unmet needs for the child with trauma, considering its meaning before determining a course of action.
• Identify the benefits of regulation and connection as strategies, not just states of being, and the need to apply them prior to correction when challenging behaviors arise.

National Council For Adoption is recognized by the New York State Education Department's State Board for Social Work as an approved provider of continuing education for licensed social workers #SW-0681. Social workers completing this course receive 1.5 contact hours.

In order to receive contact hours, attendees must participate in the entirety of the webinar training, have their attendance verified and complete a course evaluation. Upon completing these items, attendees will receive their contact hours certificate of credit to the email address provided at registration.

The live webinar will also include an interactive time where attendees can submit questions for response in real-time. To participate in this live webinar, attendees must have the Zoom application downloaded to their device.
