As adoptive parents, telling your child their adoption story can be challenging, as you strive to balance openness, sensitivity, and age-appropriate considerations. This session will provide guidance on how to navigate this delicate task, exploring approaches for engaging in open discussions about a child’s birth and adoption story throughout each stage of development. Through real-life examples, participants will gain insight on how to create an environment where ongoing conversations become a natural and empowering part of family life, fostering trust, identity formation, and deeper connections within the adoptive family and beyond.
