Adoption and Mental Health: Understanding the Needs of Children and Youth (for Professionals)

Description
Foster and adopted children are more likely to experience mental health challenges due to their histories of trauma, separation, and loss. To effectively support youth with complex mental health needs, it is essential for professionals and caregivers to be equipped with the knowledge and skills to understand and address these needs. This webinar will explore common mental health concerns in adopted children and provide strategies for support, with specific discussion of trauma-informed treatment approaches and key considerations for both medical and holistic models of interventions. The presenter will address frequently asked questions and considerations caregivers may have in determining effective approaches for children.
