Description
One of the first tasks that adoption agencies give prospective adoptive parents is to complete a Special Needs Checklist (SNC). The SNC helps prospective parents assess their ability to care for a child with unique medical, developmental, and emotional needs. Of all the many documents filled out during the adoption process, the SNC likely requires the most personal reflection, discussion, research and soul-searching. NCFA President and CEO Ryan Hanlon is joined by Dr. Jennifer Chambers for a training that will help prospective adoptive parents know what to expect on a Special Needs Checklist and provide realistic guidance for those who will be asked to complete the checklist as they prepare for a future adoption.
