[This is a National Training and Development Curriculum (NTDC) course.]

This theme describes the intercountry adoption process within the United States and abroad and implications for families formed through intercountry adoption. The characteristics and needs of children awaiting adoption are explored, as are the characteristics of successful adoptive placements. This theme also covers adoption disruptions, dissolutions, and unregulated custody transfers, as well as reporting requirements after the adoptive placement.
