This webinar will provide participants with a deep understanding of key crisis management strategies for foster and adopted children, including de-escalation techniques, risk assessment, and the safe management of aggressive behaviors. The speaker will emphasize the significance of a child's trauma history, guiding professionals and families in responding with compassion while ensuring immediate safety.

After attending this recorded webinar, professionals will be able to:
- Describe the impact of a foster or adopted child’s trauma and social history on their behavioral responses during crises.
- Identify key principles of crisis management, including risk assessment and de-escalation techniques, for use with adoptive families.
- Integrate trauma-informed strategies into emergency intervention and crisis management practices, balancing safety and child-centered care.
National Council For Adoption is recognized by the New York State Education Department's State Board for Social Work as an approved provider of continuing education for licensed social workers #SW-0681. Social workers completing this course receive 1.5 contact hours.
In order to receive their contact hours, attendees must participate in the entirety of the webinar training, have their attendance verified and complete a course evaluation. Upon completing these items, attendees will receive their contact hours certificate of credit to the email address provided at registration.
The live webinar will also include an interactive time where attendees can submit questions for response in real-time. To participate in this live webinar, attendees must have the Zoom application downloaded to their device.
